In a statement on Thursday, by Olusegun Ogungbemide,  Assistant Corps Marshal
Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC, the prosecution is another precedence setting and defining judgment that reinforces the authority of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and reaffirms its zero tolerance for reckless driving.

“Instead of obeying lawful orders to stop, Baba recklessly sped off, lost control, and crashed into an FRSC patrol vehicle and another offender’s car, inflicting heavy damage before fleeing the scene.

“He was later apprehended at Major Filling Station, along CITEC Road, and promptly charged to court on two counts bothering on Dangerous Driving and Assaulting a Marshal on Duty.

Delivering judgment on 29th October 2025, the court found Baba guilty of Dangerous Driving, convicted and sentenced him accordingly, while discharging him on the count of Assaulting a Marshal on Duty.

In addition to his prison sentence and fine, the court suspended his driver’s licence for three months and ordered full restitution for the vehicles damaged through his reckless conduct.

FRSC will never back down in defending the safety and dignity of its operatives and road users,” the Corps Marshal asserted.
